On Saturday, March 1, 2008 at 7:30 p.m., The O’Shaughnessy at the College of St. Catherine will host the Twin Cities Community Gospel Choir in an evening of gospel joy celebrating both the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Black History Month.
Gospel virtuoso Robert Robinson will lead the Gospel Choir in an energetic reflection of “olde tyme” gospel songs celebrating the rich traditions of African American music and its influence on American music today. Robinson says that he wishes to use the event as a way of celebrating and educating our community about the contribution that Spirituals and traditional gospel music has made in our American music sound.
The concert will also feature interpretative African dance, choreographed by Kenna Sarge, nationally renowned choreographer and performer. The musical guest for the evening will be “Total Praise Ministries”. It is truly an evening planned to be moving, inspirational and fun!
