Herkimer Pub Welcomes Former Brewer for Paulaner Bräuhaus as Brewmaster

Minneapolis, MN – Blake Richardson, owner of The Herkimer Pub & Brewery in Minneapolis is proud to announce that Gustavo de Toledo Vale has been named as the new Brewmaster. Mr. de Toledo Vale was most recently the apprentice to the Brewmaster for the Paulaner Bräuhaus of Munich, Germany, makers of fine German Lagers since 1634. He will assume the Head Brewmaster position at The Herkimer. He received his diploma in brewing from the Versuchs-und Lehranstalt für Brauerei (VLB) in Berlin, Germany.
The Herkimer has a high standard of brew making to uphold. Their Alt and Keller biers won Gold medals in 2007 & 2006 respectively at the Great American Beer Festival (GABF). “I feel confident and excited in the choice we have made, and that Gustavo was available to come to the Herkimer”, said Richardson. He continued; “We are in an exciting period of growth with our other business concepts and with Gustavo joining the team at The Herkimer, I am able to focus my complete attention to our new moto-i concept that will open this fall.”
Blake Richardson, himself a trained Brewmaster, launched The Herkimer in 1999 in the Lyndale-Lake neighborhood of Minneapolis. He has since launched a micro-brewed energy drink called Triple-Caff (http://www.triplecaff.com/), currently available on tap in over 11 Twin Cities Bar establishments. He has recently purchased the former Machu-Picchu location, and has a new bar and restaurant concept under construction in that space. The new concept, called moto-i (http://www.moto-i.com/) will be the first of its kind in the U.S.
