Maple Grove, MN – The Saffron Group LLC is proud to announce the successful opening of their restaurant in Maple Grove, MN. The counter-serve restaurant is attached to the thriving grocery and video store which was opened in 2007. CurryUp is a unique concept of an Indian Grocery & Restaurant designed to make fresh, authentic Indian food and foodstuffs accessible to all cultures in a modern designed setting.
The restaurant is open daily from 11:30 AM to 9:00 PM. The menu focuses on authentic Indian dishes, and incorporates dishes from all over India. They use the freshest quality ingredients. To promote healthy eating food served at CurryUp always contains no MSG and is free of trans-fats and is zabihah hala. The menu also consists of many vegetarian and gluten-free and heart-healthy options.
The main menu is diverse and comprehensive – from bhels, chaats, idli, vada, a variety of dosas and specialty curries, to pizzas, wraps, and salads. There is something on the menu for the whole family. In addition to the main menu is a daily lunch buffet served from 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM. CurryUp utilizes the buffet to feature specialty dishes and new items that may eventually end up on their regular menu.
Gaurav Shroff, General Manager, spoke about the concept; “We wanted to present a grocery and family-friendly restaurant concept that was non-existent in the Twin Cities. Our goal is to serve not only the Indian culture here in Minnesota, but to open up our culture and cooking to all other cultures and tastes.” He continued; “we incorporate modern, clean design, in the warm spice tone colors found routinely in our food to provide a welcoming environment for our guests.”
With the increasing popularity of cooking shows, and cooking networks, there has been an increasing awareness of Indian cooking styles and recipes. The cuisine at CurryUp tends to be healthier - incorporating leaner meats, and a wealth of vegetarian and gluten-free choices to support an overall healthier lifestyle. It is also family friendly with many pizza and wrap choices for kids. The grocery store allows for the passionate home-cooks to venture and explore Indian recipes in their own kitchens.
CurryUp has also placed a high priority on education. Their friendly and knowledgeable staff can assist shoppers in finding ingredients to recreate the tasty dishes they just enjoyed in the restaurant. CurryUp has also launched catering capabilities and will offer business and home delivery to the Maple Grove area later this fall. CurryUp plans on opening more locations in the Twin Cities Metro area in the near future.
