2009-10-13 09:32:49 - Bay Street Shoes and Accessories launches new Calhoun Square location Minneapolis, MN – Darrel Besikof, President/Owner of Bay Street Shoes & Accessories, announced today that on October 29, 2009, they will celebrate the grand opening of their newly expanded location in Calhoun Square. A 25-year tenant of Calhoun Square, they are the single longest standing tenant within the shopping center. The new location is on the 1st floor atrium nearest the Famous Dave’s BBQ and Blues entrance.
Adding to the wide selection of unique shoes, boots and sandals, the new store is greatly expanding their women’s purse and bag offerings. They are adding new lines of fashionable jewelry, caps, hats, mittens and gloves. Their menswear offerings are expanding to offer socks and quality leather goods such as passport cases and man bags.
“Our new store will mirror what our company philosophy has been all along. We strive to answer our client’s need for quality footwear that makes a statement about the wearer, said Besikof. “We’ve gained a strong reputation for our knowledge and low pressure sales approach. Our new space offers beautiful surroundings and inviting seating areas that allow customers the environment conducive to taking in our new offerings,” concluded Besikof.
Besikof reports that a portion of his inventory (mainly shoes/boots) is custom creations. These often one-of-a-kind selections are derived from his personal input to manufacturer representatives and designers that he’s gained a relationship with over his 35 years in the business. A self-proclaimed style “tinkerer” he collaborates until they land on the strap, heel or color that Besikof feels helps make the footwear distinct.
